Two whole days together ;)

This past Sunday Jordan and I were both off of work. THIS NEVER HAPPENS. ONLY ABOUT EVERY OTHER MONTH DO WE HAVE MULTIPLE DAYS OFF UNLESS THEY ARE PLANNED THAT WAY...and usually if they are planned we are with other people and do not spend much time together. This is the down side to being married to a fireman. But you wont see me complain because thats one part of him I fell in love with...his willingness to help others, on the job or not. My husband is so brave, WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH.
Ok, enough of the mushy stuff! On Sunday we got to go to church as a family, that was so nice! I Woke up early around 6 and made a banana blueberry bread recipe. It was so stinking easy really took longer to heat the oven then to prepare the batter! Here is the recipe, BANANA-BLUEBERRY BREAD next time we will try this with just banana and add nuts too it!! I also added a bit of cinnamon, we are a cinnamon obsessed fam up in here.
                                                              **think he liked it??**
After breakfast someone had to take another bath, story of our lives now a days...and afterwards we tried to make him do a photo shoot...he may not of did what we said, but he sure did look soooo CUTE!!!
*this is an average day @ our house. dont be jealous*
After church we went to see our newest cousin Lanie Rae. She is just the cutest little girl EVER. Her dark hair and darker skin is too die for...CONGRATULATIONS HEATHER & TIMMY!!!
Than we drove to my SIL's to hang out. We love going over there...we can spend hours there and feels like we have only been there an hour. It is so nice to just sit around and eat and chat. Then we took our usual after dinner stroll around the neighborhood to pick out our new home. We would love to live back there home prices are beyond reasonable and Kim and Jason are right there...but we will see what the school system does in the next few years. As usual we didnt leave till almost 8o'clock poor little guy was soo tired. He didnt nap at all that day but was such a good boy!! But by the time we got home, I sat him down to get a new diaper for him to go to bed and this is what I came back to...I didnt want to move him it was so cute :)
                                                               *sleep tight little guy*
Monday morning came, and so did the afternoon. Monday was definately a lazy lazy day. We ended up going to the waterpark again (told you he lives there), but the park was short lived since C wanted to throw rediculous fits for no reason. SO we thought! Once we got home I had a hunch he was hungry...so i made him a bit of mac and cheese. And more mac and cheese. Than half hour later when J and I sat down to eat we had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn. And he ate again! Poor guy i think is growing again and mommy and daddy just thought he was being an awesome toddler. Sorry bud.

DATE NIGHT!!!

Unfortunately this girl forgot her camera (oopsie) so no pics of our date. Yes you heard right OUR DATE, a date we have not been on in...SINCE WE GOT MARRIED!!! I know, all of you are probably thinking we are DUMB and in fact we are, we have only been married 9 months and no date. Its not because we didnt want to...we have talked and talked about it. It was more so a combination of finances (weve never paid a sitter till now), lack of time, and planning. But we got smart and pre planned...we also came across the coolest babysitter in town. She just moved down here from Chicago she is the relative of a friend and came HIGHLY reccomended.
Date night...we planned to go to a dive restaurant in Mt. Washington called Terry's Turf Club. HOLY FREAKING COW. You guys, I dont go to restaurants and order burgers. Maybe twice in the last year...but If you have seen Diners, Drive ins and Dives it will make you want to run..not walk the HALF hour it took us to drive there. J and I both got the burger with swiss, their famous sauce shown in the video and sauteed onion. I warned him he would most likely be driving here @ some point because Im going to have a craving later, and to my surprise (NOT!!) he said ok with a cute little smile. <3 him.
So anyways, after our amazing dinner we went to the movies and saw The Change Up. Such a good movie, lots of boobs for men, Ryan Reynolds for the women and a lot of humor for both, how could you go wrong?? Although we were having the best time just being quiet and holding hands we both were ready to go home and see our sleeping (hopefully) baby. And of course when we got home the babysitter said he went down @ his normal time between 730-800 with out a fuss. (previously we gave her the option to let him stay up if he decided to not understand why mom and dad werent there) C always surprises us in so many ways...and when she said he did not fuss once it made us both feel so much better about indulging in ourselves. So, to end the night I called my mom because she had called me during our movie and got some possibly really bad news. I am not allowed to comment on this yet, but Im jst praying that God will do his thing and not forget about who needs him most right now.

My BABY is 18 months...a FUN day in the SUN & a RECIPE

For crap sake! I woke up today and immediately started to cry...why? Well number one I am one emotional preggo right now and then I realized Cayden is 18M TODAY!!!!
**some of the things you are saying and doing...
*mommy, daddy, ball, bath, teeth, please, excuse me, thank you, bless you, most colors (if said to repeat), baby, book, food is still num num lol GO! GO!, nana, papa, jessi, jason, kim, kobe, wallie, boom!, You repeat any noise coming from a car, motorcycle and plane. And you pretend to be terrified of those noises. faker.
*eat all on your own, messiest eater EVER, cover your mouth after you cough, clap, high 5, you put shoes on, brush your own teeth, try the potty occasionaly, big helper w/laundry, pick up stuff for mommy and daddy, cleaning (u love to clean) no big surprise here, you love to dance and spin in circles and go to bed at around 730 every night. waking depends on the morning. We LOVE you big buy!!!!

C decided to wake up @ 630am this morning. Totally not his normal wake up. OF COURSE. But, after about half hour we got the day rolling First of course came breakfast for C which always consists of milk and a banana and then whatever mom or dad are in the mood to put together. This morning it was cereal! He is always a mess, but he loves it. And i LOVE how easy it is!
And because of this MAJOR reocurring melt down little boy took an early nap. No, I didnt have to drag him into his room. HE WALKED ME TO HIS BED!!! Guess you shouldnt wake up @ 630 C! So mama had some time to prep some more iced coffee YUM, take a shower and actually shave and relax!!

And this is what woke up after his little revival. Sometimes you just need a little nap to pull it together C. You are such a good boy unless you are SUPER tired. Mama decided to get out of the house and head out to the local park where there is not only a play area but a water park and a designated area for little ones. It is so nice to be able to sit down and let him run around in the sun and water. He has so much fun when we go there. I hope one day this will be somewhere we come all summer once baby #2 gets here. Usually we will go for HOURS but this time we just packed a snack or two and stayed for about 2 hours.
**you love to cover up the water from shooting out w/ the cup and then let it shoot back out**

                                                                    **break time**
After a good time @ the park we came home and I decided to try to let him take another nap. And to my surprise he did! Another 2 and half hours! I think someone is growing...good thing we just bought a bunch of bigger tees and shorts for 2.99 @ Childrens Place! I just love a good deal.

And, finally to top off the day I made another recipe from one of my new favorite food bloggers. This recipe was so so easy to make. In fact I had to let it sit out a little because I didnt realize how quick it would be ready to go in the oven! Here is the link to this awesome meal.  spinach lasagna rolls Although I do suggest either put some sauce aside or have another bottle of sauce to add later after cooked. And lastly, I used a tomatoe and basil marinara from barilla. It gave it a more chunky bite and also added so much more flavor!!!
**and if you can believe this one, he ate it!! SPINACH and all! Score one for the COOK!

OOPS. It's only been 14 days.

Well, Its looking like I am obsessed with other mom's blogs, but because of that I kinda get lost and forget to update mine. Sorry Cayden and soon to be here baby. Mommy promises to keep up with this so one day you can see how awesome I was when you were itty bitty :)

please excuse the cell phone quality photo
here is a link to this awesome dinner. This would make a great fall/winter meal.
So, most importantly I have become obsessed with food. No...not just eating it but making it too! I really could sit on my computer for hours finding new easy, fun, and somewhat healthy recipes! As of right now I have over 50 recipes in a saved file on my laptop. And slowly but surely I am trying them all out here is one that we just tried this past week and even cayden ate all of it WITH ENTHUSIASM!! In other words he was grabbing handfuls of it and stuffing his little mouth (picture A Christmas Story & the mashed potatoes).

Pregnancy update:
Today I am 16 weeks 5 days pregnant. I have so far gained 4 lbs but im sure that will soon rise since I have a vivacious appetite now. I am starting to feel a hell of a lot better than I did two weeks ago! I feel like my body is starting to even out when it comes to my emotions. OH THE EMOTIONS. My poor husband. I am not usually one to cry a lot, or feel the need to have sit down conversations about our relationships and the future. Dont get me wrong, we are a married couple just like any other trying to set up our family for the future, budgeting (which I am terrible @). But right now I have felt like every conversation has to turn into a deep conversation. OOPS. I am also REALLY wanting to start reorganizing just to get things in line for JAnuary!! I am a super planner, but it helps I SWEAR.

**To the little baby inside of me...thank you for beginning to be nice to your mommy. In two weeks we will find out what you are, and thankfully we already have almost set names. Since I am not one to with hold names here is what we have...GIRL: Kinley (daddy wants to make it kinsley) Ashton, Eden. BOY: we are a little up in the air...since we already have a boy its a little harder so far not many have any comparisons to Cayden. but right now we agree on Bowen (strong little warrior), Mason, and mommy LOVES Easton.

terrible twos and ear wax.

Weird title huh? But honestly those are the two most prevelant subjects I have right now. For starters, Our son is on day 3 of torrential meltdowns. I will give examples...
1. C and I stepped into a once upon a child looking for the next baby toy deal or whatever. All was well minus the occasional outburst but hey he is 18 months gotta give him a break sometimes. So we are getting ready to leave and someone had brought in a mini play kitchen. C loves those right now especially mommys :). Anywho, he ran right over to it...when i went to pick him up and walk out he went completely all 27 lbs limp and began to SCREAM. Not your normal scream, but like HELP SOMEONE IS TRYING TO KILL ME!!!!! I wanted to laugh so hard and if the floor even looked remotely clean would have let him have it out as I have learned but I promptly picked the baby up ran out of there so fast.
2. He hits us or throws objects and then immediately comes up for a big wet kiss with out any scolding. But we know its all a scam so we must deny his "hitting kisses" & tell him no no. :( its hard to deny cute red headed kisses.
3. finally, if we walk by a light switch and he isnt aloud to turn it on and off EVERY SINGLE FLIPPIN' TIME he has a full body "breakdancing" melt.
We Will Get Through This! We Will Get Through This!
**note to self, I could be settling with a glass of Vinoklet wine and forgetting about the toddler meltdowns if I wasnt pregnant. But dont worry by 3rd trimester I will be enjoying a small glass every once in a while.
(yes this is legal. dont judge me.)

And the best part of today!!!!
Earlier I went to a nearby vitamin shop and purchased something called ear wax candles. I know, sounds very tree hugger. And this girl is not a tree hugger. But a good friend of mine had posted a picture of what came out of her ears after constant earaches. There was at least a tablespoon of a dried yellow substance. So, given that I am constantly congested and my ears always feel like they are full or popping I gave it whirl. My hubs thought I was NUTS! (so did i in the beginning to be honest with ya!) I mean really, who puts a funneled thing in your ear and lights in on fire!!?? Did i mention i'm married to a fireman. oops.
Anyways, after laying down on either side for about ten minutes a piece and watching a small flame "shoot" from the end, it was all worth it when we cut it open and out came about a tablespoon of that same strange looking yellow stuff!!! It worked!!! So, if you are in need of an ear plumber go to to your local vitamin shop and for under ten bucks you too can have cleaned out ears.

ps. I went to my 15 weeks ob appointment today! Got to hear the little heart beat @ 155 bpm! WOO!! And even more exciting, we will get to find out the sex of our baby on September 7th!!!!

our big boy.

So, there are soo many reasons that we are OBVI so excited for baby number 2, but one that comes to mind right away is the fact that our son who will be 18 months aug 24 is wanting to be on the big boy train faster than we are ready for! For starters the other day just in normal toddler-mommy convo he pointed to his diaper and said "poopy"!! So the hubs checks his diaper and low and behold there was poopy! Yall dont understand how huge this is!!! Trying not to over do it, we gave him high fives so he knew it was so good to tell us, changed him and that was all. No joke, 2 hours later he pointed again to his diaper and poop!!! Ok, now as a mom i was never expecting my kid to start the potty training before I did. But, im going with it...one giante crocodile tear @ a time. So hear goes the part no one will believe. After dinner (where we all  sat at the table, it was so great), i said to him cayden do you want to go potty? He said yes, and walked his little waddling cute polka dot butt (thanks target up&up) to the bathroom door and said potty!!! We promptly got the camera (duh) and i sat him on the adult potty (obviously holding onto him pretty sure the potty would swallow him whole). Ok, so he didnt do anything on it so no serious moment but its a start!!

Now hopefully we can get him in a toddler bed pretty soon and by Janurary he will be in real underwear sleeping soundly in his real toddler bed. (a mom can dream right?!?)
